Before you get started on your online business there is one important question that you must answer at all costs. Without answering this question there is no chance that you can progress in any meaningful way.
You must first decide on the type of business you want to start.
On the surface, this seems easy enough to answer, and it might very well be, but without its answer, there is no way for you to move forward with creating your own online business.
For this section, we will list a few types of online businesses you could start for free or with as little investment as possible.
Here are just a few types of businesses you could start:
- A Blog: Blogging is still a powerful and effective way of driving sales for businesses and can be a lucrative online business for you to start from anywhere in the world for free. The only things you need to get started are a blog (we’ll discuss this further and how to get one in step 3) and an idea. You don’t need to be an expert in the topic you decide to blog about. We will link below to one of the best YouTube channels for learning how to make a stable income from blogging below:
- A Consultancy Firm – This one can be an easy and extremely lucrative online business if you’re already an established professional with years of experience in your industry.
- A Coaching Firm – This type of business is very similar to a consultancy firm in that you leverage your knowledge, experience, and expertise to help your clients achieve success and the results only you can help them achieve.
- An eCommerce Business– Your eCommerce business can take the form of selling physical goods like custom printed tee shirts, digital goods like eBooks, or even drop shipping.
- An Affiliate Website: This type of online business is a hybrid of sorts in that it can be done with your blog and as a monetization means to get more money for your business. We’ll learn more about monetization in step 2
- A Business Around Your Passion – This will be the business type with the broadest definition and so we’ll use an example to explain. There are many amazing people out there with different things they are passionate about. The internet has also made it easier to learn about those passions and connect with people who share a similar interest. You can create your own online business for free around your hobby or passion, for example, hiking, cycling, or sampling fine wine, and then find a way to make money from this passion. We’ll discuss this in more detail in step 2.
These are just a few types of online businesses you can start for free and is by no means an exhaustive list. We think you can safely and easily assume that there is a type of business that everyone can do that will fit their personality, interests, current situation, and limitations.
